About Today’s Wordle

Wordle #1956 (published October 27, 2026) gives you six guesses to find a five-letter word. Green = correct letter in the right spot, yellow = in the word but wrong spot, gray = not in the word. Today’s puzzle centers on a lively, communal word that most solvers will recognize instantly once the pieces click, even if the path there takes a guess or two of patience.

Non-Spoiler Overview

Today’s word belongs to the world of games and group entertainment — think community halls, fundraiser nights, and the kind of call-and-response excitement that gets a whole room buzzing at once.

Difficulty-wise, this one leans toward the easier side of the scale. The letter pattern is fairly standard, with no sneaky repeated letters to trip you up, though the overall shape might still take a guess or two to lock in if your opener leans heavy on the wrong vowels.

A common slip today is treating this as trickier than it actually is — solvers who assume every puzzle hides a repeated letter or an obscure consonant can overthink a straightforward answer and burn guesses chasing complexity that just isn’t there.

This word lives in the world of games and social gatherings — think numbered cards, a caller reading out numbers one by one, and a room full of people waiting to shout out a win.

It names a classic number-matching game, but it’s also become a common exclamation people shout the moment something finally clicks or falls into place exactly as hoped.

It’s primarily a noun, though it doubles as a well-known interjection — the kind of word you blurt out loud, not just write down.

Rare/Tricky Letters

[CLICK TO REVEAL]

None of the individual letters here are especially rare, but the combination together isn’t one you’ll see in a ton of other five-letter words, so don’t expect this shape to overlap much with your usual guesses.

Rhyme or Analogy

[CLICK TO REVEAL]

It rhymes with “dingo” and shares its ending sound with “flamingo” — picture the tail end of that longer word trimmed down to size.

Wordle #1956 Answer: BINGO

Definition & Example

Definition

[CLICK TO REVEAL]

BINGO — a game in which players mark off numbers on a card as they’re called out, aiming to complete a row, column, or pattern before anyone else; also used as an exclamation when something is found or figured out exactly right.

Example Usage

Example: “She called out ‘Bingo!’ the second she realized exactly where she’d left her keys.”

Quick Strategy Tips

When a puzzle doesn’t have a repeated letter, resist the urge to hunt for one anyway — plenty of Wordle answers are perfectly happy with five distinct letters, and overcomplicating your guesses can burn turns you don’t need to lose.

An opener that tests a handful of common consonants alongside a couple of vowels will usually get you most of the way to a word like today’s. Once you’ve got a vowel or two confirmed, lean into guesses that test common letter pairings near the front and back of the word.

How I Solved Today’s Wordle

I started with AUDIO to map vowels. It came back with one vowel confirmed in play and most of the rest of the letters dismissed, which narrowed things down faster than I expected for an opener.

My second guess went after a fresh batch of consonants paired with a different vowel placement, and that’s when the pieces started falling into a shape I recognized right away — something playful and familiar rather than obscure or technical.

From there it came together quickly. Once I had the opening letter locked in and knew there wasn’t a repeat to worry about, the rest of the word all but called itself.

[CLICK TO REVEAL: Full Walkthrough]

I started with AUDIO to map vowels. That confirmed O was somewhere in the word but ruled out A, U, and I from their tested spots — mostly gray, with just that one yellow O to build from. Next I played STERN to test a fresh batch of consonants against a different vowel, E — that came back all gray, telling me E wasn’t involved and none of S, T, R, or N belonged either. With a confirmed vowel and a long list of ruled-out consonants, I tried BRING to test some higher-value letters — B lit up green immediately in the first slot, and N turned yellow, confirming it belonged but not where I’d placed it. From there, BINGO lined up cleanly: B up front, the confirmed O closing things out, and I and N sliding into place in between. The playful, exclamatory feel of the word matched the lighter tone I’d been sensing from how quickly things were falling into place, and it clicked on the very next guess.
