Traditional Lebanese Tabbouleh
To start my blog, I’ll write about my favorite Lebanese salad: the Tabbouleh.
Lebanese Manakish Dough Recipe
I have tried so many dough recipes over the year to make manakish with, but this recipe definitely wins.
Mankoushe literally means “carved” or “engraved” and this refers to the way the dough was traditionally shaped before baking it. Basically, they are Lebanese-style pizzas, made from a dough and various toppings.
Chicken Tawouk in the Pan
Another Lebanese popular dish is the “Shish Tawouk”, which is basically marinated chicken that is put on skewers and grilled over an outdoor bbq.
Outdoors bbq is not always an option so today we will see how we can do it in the pan at home.
Lebanese Simple Syrup (Ater)
Simple syrup is a syrup used in most middle eastern desserts. Today I will show you how to make it quickly and easily at home.
Lebanese Spicy Potatoes (Batata Harra)
Spicy potatoes is a traditional Lebanese Mezze that you will usually find on all tables. It is a favorite for both kids and adults.
Unlike what the name suggests, the Batata Harra is generally not so spicy. Its flavours come from the mix of garlic, coriander, lemon juice and (optionally) some red pepper paste.
My Labneh Mix
Labneh is the Lebanese, thicker version of greek yogurt. It is a very creamy cheese that is slightly sour and salty.
We eat labneh with vegetables, zaatar, olive oil, olives, bread etc.
Over time I created a Labneh mix that combined all the flavours I liked to combine in Labneh into one dish that has become quite popular between my friends and family.
Garlic Paste (Lebanese Toum)
Growing up in Lebanon, garlic paste is something you will always have in your sandwiches or as a side, at restaurants or even at home. Chicken and fries simply do not taste the same without it.
Zucchinis with Eggs (Koussa Aa Beid)
It is a tradition in our household to always make some “Koussa 3a Beid” whenever we have some left over zucchinis (or the insides left from making stuffed zucchini). It’s partly because we don’t like wasting food, and partly because this recipe is so easy, simple and tasty. Difficulty: Easy Cooking Time: ~30 mns Ingredients […]
Lebanese Stuffed Zucchini (Koussa Me7she)
There are many variations to this all-time favourite Lebanese dish. So today I will be sharing with you my recipe, which is based on the way we make it in my family, and the way I usually prefer it.
Halewet El Jeben
A traditional Lebanese dessert. In Lebanon, this is usually the specialty of some known sweets shops like AlHallab. You would rarely make this recipe yourself as it is easier and tastier to just buy it. But when you’re living abroad, you start craving those flavors from back home. And this is how I ended up […]
