My Labneh Mix
Ever since I was a kid, I loved having Labneh for breakfast or dinner.
Labneh is the Lebanese, thicker version of greek yogurt. It is a very creamy cheese that is slightly sour and salty.
We eat labneh with vegetables, zaatar, olive oil, olives, bread etc.
Over time I created a Labneh mix that combined all the flavours I liked to combine in Labneh into one dish that has become quite popular between my friends and family.
Difficulty: Easy
Cooking Time: ~30 mns
Ingredients
You will be needing the following ingredients:
- Labneh. If you can’t find it, you can use any cream cheese that is slightly salty in flavour. In France I use a cheese called St Moret
- Tomatoes
- Onions (or spring onions), cut into small cubes
- Lebanese 7 spices
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
Tools
- Knife
- Cutting board
- A bowl
Notes
The quantities of each ingredient really depend on your taste.
For reference, for 500g of st more, I used:
- Around 3 medium tomatoes
- A small onion
- Half a tablespoon of 7 spice
- A tablespoon of olive oil
Instructions
1- Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
2- Cut the onion into small cubes.
3- In a bowl mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
Serving Suggestions
Serve in a bowl with olive oil on top, and a side of bread or Lebanese Manakish.
